THE DJ
Hailing from Los Angeles California, DJ 818 moved to the east coast where he started DJing in the late 1990’s. It wasn't long before he secured residencies in major cities up and down the east coast. Currently residing in Miami, you can catch him at one of his weekly spots on South Beach.
It has been an honor and a privilege for 818 to grace the decks with some of the top DJs of the century. With a style similar to that of the late DJ AM, 818 showcases spontaneity and the ability to control the crowd.
818's energy radiates through his song selections and crafty turntable techniques. His reputation of stimulating dance floors and mind blowing party goers simply proceeds him.
THE PRODUCER
818's affinity for break beats date back to the late 90's when
Nu-School Breaks came on the scene. Artists like DJ Hybrid, Stanton Warriors & Plump DJ's were tearing up the dance floors... that's when the evolution from B-Boy to DJ began. Breakbeats have influenced a variety of genres over the past few decades and his signature style continues to blur the lines.
Tracks & Guest Mixes have been featured both nationally & internationally on radio shows & music blogs such
as EDM.com, The EDM Network, and Funk Filth (UK).
Rhythm and Breaks (SPAIN) has been a consistant media outlet for the past few years, supporting over 30 individual tracks.
In 2015, 818 teamed up with GROOVE THERAPY RECORDS & released his first solo original track, 'DROP!', an electro/melbourne bounce vibe. Within a few days of its release, 'DROP' quickly shot to top 10 on the 'Beatport TOP 100' chart, setting the bar high for those that continue to hit your eardrums.
